Members of family Vibrionaceae are serious human pathogens which are associated with consumption of raw or undercooked seafoods leading to gastroenteritis, wound infections, septicemia, ear infections and vibriosis. Her research is focused on developing a biological method of control for Vibriosis as an absolute requirement for sustainable aquaculture without environmental degradation. The study will look at successful application of strictly lytic vibriophages in the form of phage therapy for the treatment of seafood pathogens and their biofilms.
