Studies on Role of hypoxia inducible transcription factor in maintaining neuronal homeostasis under normoxia
Contact: pp.priya.p@gmail.com

Hypoxia is a condition when there is a deprivation in the supply of adequate amount of oxygen at tissue level. Hypoxia inducible transcription factors (HIFs) plays a major role which helps the cells to adapt and survive under hypoxic condition. During hypoxia HIFs helps the cells to survive by activating several genes which induces multiple physiological responses like angiogenesis , erythropoiesis etc . Her work mainly focuses in the role of HIFs under normoxic condition to maintain the neuronal homeostasis.
