Lignin peroxidase is oligomannose type glycoprotein which has the ability to degrade many natural and anthropogenic compounds, particularly those comprised of aromatic rings. The lignin peroxidase has got wide applications in various fields including industries such as food, textile, paper and pulp, and in bioremediation. Hence, lignin peroxidase is one of the most promising enzymes in the biotechnology field. My research interest is focussed on production, characterization and application of lignin peroxidase from fungus.
