Ligninolytic enzymes are non specific extracellular enzymes including laccase, lignin peroxidase (LiP) and manganese peroxidase (MnP). These glycoproteins mainly produced mainly by wood rot fungi which can catalyse oxidation processes of various organic and inorganic substrates. My research interest is focussed on the ligninolytic enzyme profile of selected wood rot fungus and its application in synthetic dye decolourization of textile effluents and pretreatment of sugarcane bagasse for biofuel production.
